| Description | Article 4 Direction: Land South of Winterfold House, Barhatch Lane, Cranleigh (A4D-17) was introduced by Waverley Borough Council on 21 October 1988 under the Town and Country Planning General Development Order 1988. The Direction removed permitted development rights for several classes: boundary treatments such as gates, fences, and walls (Class II – 2A), the formation of new accesses to highways (Class II), and exterior painting of buildings other than for signage or adverts (Class II). It also withdrew rights for temporary uses of land for up to 28 days a year including movable structures (Class IV) and for agricultural buildings and operations on land over one acre within agricultural units (Class VI). By removing these rights, the Council ensured that boundary works, access creation, external appearance, temporary activities, and agricultural development at Winterfold required full planning control. | Facts |
