The Direction removed several permitted development rights, including the erection or alteration of gates, fences and walls (Class II), the formation of new means of access to a highway (Class II), and the painting of the exterior of buildings other than for advertisements or signage (Class II). It also withdrew rights for temporary buildings and works required in connection with approved operations (Class IV). By bringing these categories under full planning control, the Council aimed to manage boundary treatments, access points, external appearance, and temporary operational structures on land west of Green Lane. 1975-09-23
