Value This land forms part of a wider site that is part occupied by a paint factory with the remainder consisting of vacant areas, greenfield land and also a small number of dwellings. This particular parcel relates to vacant brownfield land, previously occupied by terraced dwellings, although these had been cleared in earlier years. Location to the edge of Prudhoe is somewhat peripheral. Now earmarked for a phased redevelopment for residential use. An initial outline approval for 50 homes was consented (15/03750/OUT). Reserved matters has very recently followed, being permitted in 2020 for a scheme of 48 homes (19/03517/REM). It is understood that this is intended as a phase-1 to a larger development. The extant permission is on brownfield land (1.62ha) which represents around one-third of the wider site. There may be potential for further delivery as an additional phase of development are being considered for the future. Development commenced in April 2021, when a start on site access works was made, and the overall scheme is forecast for completion within the next 5 years.
