Former school premises that is now surplus to requirements following closure in 2014 and now available for alternative use(s). Redundant school buildings require demolition prior to redevelopment. A suitable scheme would be focused on the cleared brownfield land and would not include the associated playing fields. Planning permission has been granted for demolition of the vacant school buildings and redevelopment of the land for 14 units (17/01123/FUL). The proposal is for a mix of townhouses and bungalows and is limited to the footprint of the former buildings and hardstanding. Demolition and construction commenced in 2018 and the development of 14 dwellings was completed in 2020/21.
