Cleared land close to Berwick town centre that is comprises of vacant hardstanding, previously used for car parking. This was for the retail unit that previously occupied the adjacent land. However, this shop has now been demolished and a new office development recently constructed in replacement. Residential development on this vacant site could complement this scheme. A higher-density could be fitting given the central location, with a flatted/apartment scheme potentially being appropriate. There is known interest in taking forward a project and the site has recently been sold. Currently considered developable later in the plan period. The site is identified as an allocation in the draft Local Plan (submitted May 2019).
