Value Land at a telephone exchange, consisting of hardstanding, utilised for storage and car parking. Facility currently in operational use and is not currently available, although it has been suggested in the past that the site may become surplus. Any timescale for this change is dependent on operational and business needs of BT. Likely to be delivered as part of wider scheme comprising the exchange building and associated land (2616, 2615). Previously identified as an allocation in the draft Local Plan (submitted May 2019) and also in the emerging Hexham Neighbourhood Plan. Recently confirmed the site will not be available for redevelopment for the foreseeable future. This position could change in the longer-term but no residential development is forecast within the plan period at present. A modification for delete the allocation has been proposed during the Local Plan EiP.
