A former dwelling that had long been functioning as doctor's surgery premises, and had been greatly extended over the years. Identified for redevelopment following closure, following relocation of the practice to new premises. May be scope for an element of conversion and extension and/or demolition prior to new-build construction. with the site available for redevelopment following closure. A higher density flatted scheme is appropriate for the location on the edge of the town centre. An initial scheme for conversion to single dwelling was approved (13/02887/FUL). This work was not undertaken and a revised proposal for clearance and to build 6 flats was then refused (15/02484/FUL). A further application for 5 apartments following demolition, was then approved (16/00275/FUL). The scheme is now under-construction and forecast for completion within 5 years.
