Cleared land close to Berwick town centre that comprises of vacant hardstanding. The site had providing car parking for the adjacent retail unit. However, this shop has now been demolished and a new office development recently constructed in replacement. Residential development on this particular vacant site could complement the recently completed commercial scheme. A higher-density could be fitting given the central location, with a flatted/apartment scheme potentially being appropriate. There is known interest in taking forward a project and it is understood that the site has recently been sold. Currently considered developable later in the plan period. The site is identified as a preferred allocation in the draft Local Plan (submitted May 2019).
