The site was owned by the MoD for many years and has been identified in the past as having potential for redevelopment. Demolition would be required prior to such a redevelopment. However, the site was sold in 2019 with the new owner having now earmarked for alternative uses. An application for conversion of the existing retail unit to a cafe has recently been permitted (20/00229/FUL). As a result, this site is no longer available for redevelopment for residential use.
