Former school site in a rural village in North Northumberland. Now surplus and available following closure in 2010. The redundant buildings require demolition prior to redevelopment. These consist of poor-quality pre-fab buildings, dating from the 1970s. Permission secured for construction of 6 bungalows in replacement (15/00102/FUL). The scheme is to provide homes for affordable rent under-construction. The scheme is limited to the brownfield land, exclusive of adjacent open space. Works underway and forecast for completion within the next 5 years.
