Site of existing 1-bed bungalows within an established residential area. Whilst occupied, the units have been earmarked for potential redevelopment, to provide more suitable dwellings that better meet current housing need.. Demolition would be required in order to enable this, as part of a process of renewal and regeneration of social housing stock. An application for construction of 10 new homes following clearance has been approved in 2020 (19/03638/FUL). With 10 existing units on site, the proposal will have a neutral impact on the dwelling stock. As a result of demolition, no net gain/loss will arise on completion of the project. Scheme commenced with demolition of the redundant housing stock, completed in 2020. Construction of the replacement units commenced shortly afterwards and is forecast for completion in 2021/22. Housebuilding is well advanced and completion of the new-build dwellings is anticipated for 201//22. NB - the loss to stock through demolition of the 10 existing units was accounted for in the 2020/21 monitoring year.
