Notes | NU 04 SW KYLOE WEST KYLOE 2/72 Old Farmhouse GV II House. Dated 1697, largely altered early C19. Random rubble, rendered on entrance front. Welsh slate roof and brick chimneys. L-plan. Formerly T-plan probably with cross passage, but part of cross-wing demolished. 2 storeys, irregular fenestration. In angle of L, a C19 door with small bottle-glass diamond panes, in dated, moulded, recessed surround with segmental outer lintel. C19 glazed porch. To left one 12-pane sash on ground floor and 2 on 1st floor with C17 coat of arms of Grey family between. Projecting bay to right has stepped tripartite window in raised surround on ground floor and 2-light window above with 8-pane sashes in similar surround. Gabled roofs. Thin raised coping on long wing, splayed coping on cross wing. C19 corniced ridge and 2 end stacks. Similar windows on other sides. Interior has 6-panelled doors and shutters, cast-iron staircase and C19 coved ceiling in drawing room, with elaborate cornice. , | Facts |
