Notes | HARTBURN HARTBURN NZ 08 NE 9/17 Heppel heastone and neighbour c.5m SE of St. Andrew's church GV II Heastones, mid-C18. Sandstone. Southern has scrolled shaped top with sunk panel containing winged hourglass beneath death's head; inscription to William Heppel d.1738 and Elisabeth his mother d.1739 (aged 99). Reverse: Ionic pilasters flank panel with cherub above crossbones. Northern stone has shallow gabled top and cherub; inscription largely buried.
