Notes | THROPTON THROPTON VILLAGE NU 00 SW (South side) 16/318 Three Wheat Heads Inn GV II Inn. Early to mid C18, altered late C18, enlarged early C19. Squared tooled stone with cut dressings; Scottish slate roof. L-plan. Street front 2 storeys, in 2 sections: left part 4 irregular bays. Right 2 bays are original house: renewed door on right in surround of irregular large blocks with narrow chamfer; 4-pane sash on left and 4-pane sashes in stone surrounds on 1st floor. Left bays originally single-storey, heightened in later C18: centre renewed door with low overlight, 2 small windows on left and 4-pane sash on right; lst floor shows 2 large windows with pointed arches holding later sashes, and smaller blind window between, all in raised stone surrounds. Coped gables on moulded kneelers; stepped-and-corniced ridge and left end stacks. Right part has short link bay with vertical-panelled door and low overlight, and projecting early C19 wing; 3-bay left return shows left-of-centre renewed door, with low overlight, and renewed 12-pane sash windows except for 4-pane sashes in left bay.
