Notes | FELTON RIVERSIDE NU 1800 (West end, off) 12/126 Lambert headstone 6 metres south of Church of St. Michael and All Angels GV II Headstone, 1764 with later additions to inscription. Cut sandstone. Shaped top has carving of cherub above oval panel inscribed 'Prepare to meet thy God' and foliage. Inscriptions: 'Here lies Jane, who when in Life Was Joy, Comfort: Crown and Wife to Thomas Lambert of Old Felton 1764 The Sweet Remembrance of the Just Shall flourish when they sleep in Dust' (to Thomas & George Lambert d.1770 & 1798) 'Be on your Guard, watch and pray In the Prime of Life we're calld away' (on reverse, to Isabella wife of George Lambert d.1812) 'In sure and certain Hope to rise, And claim her Mansion in the Skies, A Christian here her Flesh laid down The Cross exchanging for the Crown'. , | Facts |
