Notes | SEATON DELAVAL SEATON DELAVAL HALL NZ 3276 13/94 Farmbuildings 150 metres north-east of Seaton Delaval Hall GV II Farmbuildings, C18. Coursed roughly-squared stone except north end which is brick in irregular bond; graduated Lakeland slate roof except for Welsh slates on west range. L plan. North end of main range is screen wall showing large round- headed arch with keystone flanked by vertical pairs of smaller but similar blind arches; moulded stone string course to lower sills, brick bands at upper sill and impost levels, and below parapet with flat stone coping. Right return shows boarded doors, stable door, 9-pane fixed window and blacksmiths' window. Set back to right lower west range with boarded door and 2 blacksmiths' windows. All openings with timber lintels. South end of main range shows projecting brick stack and boarded pitching door. Attached wall to south and pent shed to east are not of special interest. , | Facts |
