| Notes | Former police station that has become available following relocation of the service to a new base within Morpeth. Identified for redevelopment for residential use after being declared surplus and redevelopment scheme is likely to involve conversion of the existing buildings alongside an element of new-build. An application to provide a total of 32 units was permitted in November 2020, having been under consideration for some time (17/02588/FUL). The overall project consists of refurbishment of the main building, garages and stables to provide 6 apartments and 1 house, along with the demolition of associated workshops, other buildings, and the former police houses, to enable construction of a further 18 apartments and 7 houses. It is understood that the site was sold to new owners in 2020, to enable the residential development to progress. Site works commenced in summer 2024 and overall completion is forecast within the next five years. | Facts |
