| Description | Article 4 Direction: Land at Potato Copse, Witley (A4D-12) was made by Waverley District Council on 4 November 1975 under the Town and Country Planning General Development Order 1973. The Direction withdrew a wide range of permitted development rights. It restricted the erection of gates, fences, and walls (Class II), the formation of new accesses to highways (Class II), and exterior painting of buildings other than for signage or announcements (Class II). It also removed rights for temporary buildings associated with operations (Class IV), temporary uses of land including caravan sites and markets (Class V), agricultural operations on holdings over five hectares (Class VI), and forestry works such as buildings, operations, and private tracks (Class VII). By withdrawing these rights, the Council brought a broad spectrum of works, from boundaries and access to agriculture, forestry, and temporary uses, under planning control at Potato Copse. | Facts |
